Honiton has given its name to bobbin lace made in East Devon as far back as the early 17th century. Many of the early lace merchants and designers had their workshops and outlets in and around the town of Honiton supplying materials to the lace makers and selling their produce throughout Europe.

​Our Honiton Lace Shop began life on the High Street in the 19th century when lace making under the patronage of Queen Victoria was at its height. Our family took over the shop in the 1980’s and specialised in fine antique and collectors lace, and in particular, beautiful wedding veils and bridal lace accompaniments. To bring these items into pristine wearable condition we offered our own specialist cleaning and restoration service which we still continue to this day.

​In 2004 we moved from the High street shop to an on-line only business. We now work by appointment only from our home studio just outside Honiton in the East Devon countryside.
