Our
head chef is John Cruwys, well known throughout Devon area where
he has worked in a number of high quality establishments, even running
his own restaurants for a many years. Highly capable and ever inventive,
you can be assured that Johns menus will never leave you wanting.
Always happy to discuss his menue items with you (if he is allowed
time to escape the kitchens) John will be the one to talk to for
special occasion and party bookings if you want that little extra
for your meal.
Jaime
is our restaurant manageress and will be found cracking the whip
over us all. So if you have any requests, suggestions or observations
please ask to talk to Jaime. She will also be the person to contact
if you want to make special reservations or requests.
As
for myself, I am Jonathan Page and together with my wife Rosemarie,
own the restaurant. For years I have been running The Honiton Lace
Shop specialising in antique textiles and lace. Wanting a complete
change I decided to open a restaurant instead. Apart from overseeing
the day to day running of merletto I will usually be found fronting
the restaurant in the evenings. My other main function is to catch
fresh scallops and other goodies for the menu throughout the summer
months when I can escape and go diving.
Rosemarie
works elsewhere during the week but can be found working behind
the bar most Friday and Saturday evenings.
